Terms of service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of borealloom.com (the "Site") and any purchase you make from Boreal Loom ("Boreal Loom", "we", "us"), an online retailer working with international fulfilment partners. By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Returns & 100-Night Guarantee, which form part of these Terms.

1. Who can order

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your province, to place an order. By ordering, you confirm that the information you give us is accurate and that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.

2. Products, prices and availability

  • All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Applicable sales taxes are added at checkout.
  • We do our best to display colours and textures accurately, but screens vary. Dimensions are approximate and may vary by up to 3–5% because of the nature of woven and knitted textiles.
  • We may change prices, products or promotions at any time without notice. Price changes do not affect orders already confirmed.
  • If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of a typographical or technical error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, even after confirmation.

3. Reference prices and promotions

When we show a crossed-out "compare at" price next to a sale price, the crossed-out price is the regular price at which we offer that product on the Site when it is not part of a promotion. Promotional offers such as "Buy One, Get One" apply only to eligible products and quantities shown on the product page, cannot be combined with other discount codes unless stated, and may be withdrawn at any time. Free items included in a promotion have no cash value; if you return a paid item from a promotional bundle, the free item must be returned with it or its regular price will be deducted from the refund.

4. Orders and payment

  • An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send the shipping confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order for reasons including suspected fraud, stock unavailability or pricing errors; if we do, you'll be refunded in full.
  • Payment is taken at the time of purchase through Shopify Payments, PayPal or Shop Pay. We never see or store your full card details.
  • You can cancel an order free of charge as long as it has not yet been processed (usually within 12 hours of purchase) by emailing us.

5. Personalised products

You are responsible for checking the spelling and format of any monogram or name you enter. Personalised items are made to order and cannot be cancelled once processed or returned unless defective, damaged, or personalised incorrectly by us. We reserve the right to refuse personalisation that is offensive or infringes someone else's rights.

6. Shipping, returns and guarantee

Delivery times, costs and our 100-Night Satisfaction Guarantee are described in the Shipping Policy and Returns policy linked above. Risk in the products passes to you on delivery.

7. Your account and conduct

If you create an account, keep your password confidential and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use. You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose, to interfere with its operation, to scrape its content, or to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems.

8. Reviews and user content

By submitting a review, photo or comment, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display and adapt it in connection with our products and marketing. You confirm it is your own, honest, and does not infringe anyone's rights. We may remove content that is offensive, off-topic or misleading.

9. Intellectual property

The Boreal Loom name, logo, product names, photographs, text and Site design are owned by or licensed to Boreal Loom and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy or use them without our written permission, except for personal, non-commercial viewing of the Site.

10. Third-party links and tools

The Site may link to third-party websites or use third-party tools (payment, reviews, chat). We are not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.

11. Warranties and liability

Our products come with the 100-Night Guarantee and with the legal warranties that cannot be excluded under the consumer protection laws of your province. Beyond those, the Site and products are provided "as is" and we do not make other warranties, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or the mandatory rights of consumers in Canada (including under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act).

12. Governing law and disputes

If you are a consumer resident in Canada, these Terms are governed by the laws of your province and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and you may bring a claim in the courts of your province. Nothing in these Terms limits the mandatory consumer protection rights you have under those laws. Before starting any legal action, please contact us – most issues can be solved in a couple of emails.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on the Site when you place your order.
