THE PROCESS
How it's Made
-
A dense knitted base
The base is knitted tight so the pile has something solid to sit in and doesn't shed.
-
Brushed to depth
Repeated brushing raises a long, even pile. Longer pile, more trapped air, more warmth.
-
Cut and finished by hand
Panels are cut, sewn and checked by hand, so seams sit flat and the pile runs the same way throughout.

OUR STORY
Made for the warm side of the door
Boreal Loom began in Vancouver in 2019, in the middle of a long, wet winter — with one blanket, and one question: why shouldn’t everyday comfort feel this good?
Every piece since has been chosen for a moment rather than a specification. The evening on the sofa. The slow morning. The cold night that stays outside.
Because when it’s cold out there, what happens in here matters more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low or air dry. No fabric softener — it mats the pile. Shake it out while it dries and the loft comes straight back.
Yes. Deep pile holds a thick layer of still air, and that air is what keeps you warm. The upside is that you get the heat without the weight — it's far lighter than a quilted equivalent.
A small amount of loose fibre in the first wash is normal and settles quickly. The base is knitted tight specifically so the pile stays anchored.
To the bin and back, yes — the PVC sole handles a doorstep. They're not outdoor shoes and the plush will hold water if you walk in snow.
Shipping is free anywhere in Canada. Orders are processed in 1–3 working days and travel for 6–10 more, so most arrive within 8 to 14 working days with a tracking link. See our Shipping Policy for the full detail.
