Cut for the Way It Falls
The drape shawl is cut and weighted so it holds a fold instead of sliding off your shoulders — which is the difference between a shawl you wear and one that lives on a chair. Eleven colours including three limited editions, in one size.

THE PROCESS
How our Fleece is Made
-
Knitted, not woven
Fine yarn is knitted into a dense base. The knit is what gives fleece its give and its drape.
-
Brushed into pile
The surface is brushed on both sides to raise the fibres. This is the step that creates the air pocket and the softness.
-
Sheared and finished
The pile is sheared to an even height, washed, and inspected by hand so the surface stays uniform after washing.

OUR STORY
Made for the warm side of the door
Boreal Loom began in Vancouver in 2019, in the middle of a long, wet winter — with one blanket, and one question: why shouldn’t everyday comfort feel this good?
Every piece since has been chosen for a moment rather than a specification. The evening on the sofa. The slow morning. The cold night that stays outside.
Because when it’s cold out there, what happens in here matters more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low, or hang it. No fabric softener and no iron — both flatten the pile that makes fleece soft. Wash it alone the first couple of times; it sheds slightly at the start and then stops.
No. Fleece insulates by holding a layer of air in the brushed pile rather than by being heavy, so it warms you without the weight or the clamminess of a thick woven blanket. It also breathes, which is why it doesn't get stuffy the way a synthetic quilt does.
Not the way cheap fleece does. The pile here is longer and set more densely, and it's sheared to an even height before it ships. You may see a little loose fibre in the first wash or two — that's the surface settling, and it stops.
They're dyed in single runs. When a run sells out we don't repeat it, so Royal Purple, Navy and White won't be restocked once they're gone.
Add any two items from our Buy One, Get One Free collection to your cart and the cheaper of the two comes off automatically — no code to enter. They don't have to be the same product, and it repeats: four qualifying items means you pay for two. The saving shows in your cart before you check out.
Shipping is free anywhere in Canada. Orders are processed in 1–3 working days and travel for 6–10 more, so most arrive within 8 to 14 working days with a tracking link. See our Shipping Policy for the full detail.
Every Boreal Loom order is covered by our 100-Night Guarantee. Use it, wash it, live with it — and if it isn't what you reach for, email support@borealloom.com within 100 nights of delivery and we'll arrange a return, exchange or store credit.
